In 2020, linemen from Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation (STEMC) traveled to Lake Charles, Louisiana, to assist with power restoration following Hurricane Laura. This design commemorates the team’s deployment. I illustrated an alligator’s eye with a lineman silhouette inside, layered within the shape of a hurricane, all enclosed in the outline of Louisiana. I paired this with the phrase 'In the Eye of the Storm.' On the front, an alligator grips a lightning bolt, symbolizing strength and energy, and giving additional context to the eye on the back. Both STEMC and JDEC were included to represent the two cooperatives working together on the ground.
